Introducing the Board Members.

This month, we will be introducing a member of the board from outside of the immediate CIS community.
To ensure our BOT has the proper balance and depth of experience we have invited a number of experts in various fields who do not have children attending the school.  In this way we can ensure that the decision making processes make use the expertise available in the business community at large and provide a different perspective on the issues at hand.

As a relatively new and expanding school members of the BOT are very much involved in setting up the policies, directions and resources for expansion and the continued support of the drive for excellence.  All members are required to sit on sub-committees as well which include education, strategic planning, trusteeship and finance.

All members donate their time freely and we owe them all a huge vote of thanks for the tremendous amount of work they do. Coupled with the incredible drive and passion of our sponsor, the depth of talent in the academic body led by Dr Tarek and Dr Ian and our very capable administration CIS is well positioned to continue its growth and pursuit of excellence.

Introducing Khun Vachirapa Chankajorn.Vachirapa

Khun ‘Ae’ is well suited to a role on the board of CIS having completed not one, not two but three degrees!!, A Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics from Ramkamhaeng University, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the East in Manila and finally a Masters in Marketing Management from Queen’s University in Lexington, Canada.

After returning to Thailand in 1994  Khun Ae set up the Chankajorn Promotion and Production House Company focused on giving better education opportunities to poor students in remote areas of Thailand and producing documentaries on schools and a See The World program.  I am sure you have all seen the program Rong Rian Khong Noo (My School program).

At the same time she also went to work as the General Manager of the Thailand Business Association of Canada until 1990 and then as General Manager of Caretex Asia Co Ltd a container liner manufacturer and exporter.

Khun Ae recently left Caretex to concentrate 100% on her social enterprise business and as many will know the school has benefited through her experience. The school Baan Huay Wok community in the north where the CIS students and teachers have been a number if times to build classrooms and a library is one of her many worthwhile projects.

Khun Ae at CIS is very heavily involved in our CAS program and as well sits on the Trusteeship and Strategic planning committees.

Her view on education and children: “Education is the foundation of children’s lives and the growth of the country.  They are our future”.

So when you see Khun Ae around the school please say hello and give her a big thank you for all the valuable work.
