Basketball

Dragon’s basketball so far:

The senior girls and boys basketball teams both played yesterday. The Lady Dragons were away at KIS. The girls used a tough defense to keep the KIS team in check. Although they struggled with the KIS pressure the girls managed to stay in control and walk away with a 27-17 victory.

The boys were in action at home against Regents. In another fast paced game CIS maintained control but could not shake the tenacious Regents squad. When the buzzer sounded the boys had squeaked out a 34-33 victory. Both teams have 3 more games until the TISAC tournaments at the end of November. Stay tuned for results from next weeks games.

TISAC News

CIS is a member of TISAC (Thailand International Schools Activities Conference) and along with 11 other international schools participates in a range of activities provided by the organization.

The purpose of TISAC is to provide a well-rounded program of both sports and cultural activities for participating schools that will achieve recognized educational objectives and provide an enjoyable activities program for all participants. Participation at TISAC events is open to students from grade 1 to grade 12.

TISAC traditionally offers basketball, soccer, badminton, swimming, golf, and athletic competitions in the following age divisions under-9, under-11, under-13, under-15, and under 19.  As schools grow TISAC is committed to offering a great variety of activities. Primary School students are given the opportunity to strengthen their skills and to try out for different TISAC sports teams through physical education classes and offered after school sports clubs.

Secondary School students train and build skill tactics for TISAC competition in their physical education class and after school sports teams.

Participation in the CIS physical education classes as well as commitment to the after school practices are the stepping stone to selection for the CIS TISAC teams. League members are required to conduct all competition in a spirit of good sportsmanship.
